Stories of Hope

They Were Told There Were No More Options.

These are the stories of Filipino patients and families who refused to accept that answer. Each one found a different path — through Cancer and Hope, to Jinshazhou Hospital, and back home with something they didn't have before: a fighting chance.

Maria, 52 — Cervical Cancer, Stage 3B 📍 Cebu City

She Was Told to Go Home and Rest. We Found Her Another Option.

After two hospitals in Cebu told Maria there was nothing more they could do, her daughter found Cancer and Hope online at 2am. Six weeks later, Maria was in Guangzhou receiving targeted therapy unavailable in the Philippines.

"Ako mismo nagulat. Hindi ako naniniwala na may pagkakataon pa ako."

— I was shocked myself. I didn't believe there was still a chance for me.

Outcome

Completed 6 weeks of Local Targeted Chemotherapy at Jinshazhou. Follow-up scan showed significant tumour reduction. Currently under monitoring in Cebu.

Roberto, 61 — Colorectal Cancer, Stage 4 📍 Mandaluyong, Metro Manila

His Doctor Said Six Months. That Was Eight Months Ago.

Roberto's oncologist in Manila had exhausted standard chemotherapy options. His son, working abroad, refused to accept a palliative-only path and contacted us. Roberto flew to Guangzhou with his wife in February.

"Pinakita nila sa amin na may pag-asa pa. Hindi lang sabi-sabi — naramdaman namin."

— They showed us there was still hope. Not just words — we felt it.

Outcome

Received combination immunotherapy and minimally invasive surgery at Jinshazhou. Currently completing post-treatment follow-up. Remains active and ambulatory.

The Cancer Came Back. This Time, She Was Ready.

Lourdes had been in remission for 18 months when a follow-up scan confirmed recurrence. Her oncologist in Davao recommended palliative care. A friend who had heard of Cancer and Hope sent her our contact number.

"Nung una, ayaw ko nang lumaban. Pagod na pagod na ako. Pero ang aking pamilya... sila ang nagbigay sa akin ng lakas."

— At first, I didn't want to fight anymore. I was exhausted. But my family... they gave me the strength.

Outcome

Completed targeted biological therapy at Jinshazhou Hospital. Second recurrence stabilised. Currently on maintenance therapy coordinated with her Davao oncologist.
